Today we were joined by Ivan Cane (East Anglian Waterways Associations Archivist for the North Walsham & Dilham Canal) who helped uncover a catch and an unusual anchor strap for the upper stanch gates. Discussions also continued about the building of the new guillotine gate.
A ride on mower was brought to site by Frank who made a good job of cutting the new grass.
Finds today included the remains of a large drinking mug. Unfortunately it was not intact enough to be put back into use - this did not hinder the usual drinking of tea by the gallon.
