On Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th May 2018 the Bone Mill opened to the public as part of the National Mills weekend event.  Over the two days we had 70+ visitors at the site.  The weather was mainly sunny although a chilly start to the day on Sunday required the lighting of the wood burner in the railway wagon!

The weekend was the first event where our new building 'The Little Mill' was in use, providing a larger display area for finds and photographs, as well as hosting the incredibly detailed model of the Bone Mill complex recently completed by David Turner.

After carefully checking for nesting wagtails we were able to turn the water wheel on both days using the pump.

Thank you to all visitors who attended over the weekend and special thanks go to our volunteers who helped with the preparations and were on site during the event making it a great success.
